USING THE NAVIGATION SYSTEM

WARNING

In the interest of safety, only operate or adjust the system when it is safe to do so. Driver distraction can lead to accidents, potentially causing serious injury or death.

WARNING

The navigation system is not a substitute for driving safely, with due care and attention. Drivers should not assume that a feature will correct errors in judgement when driving. The driver is responsible for staying alert, driving safely, and for being in control of the vehicle at all times, relative to the prevailing conditions. The driver is responsible for determining the safety of the route suggested by the navigation system. The navigation system may not function properly in all circumstances.

WARNING

Do not adjust the touchscreen controls, or allow the system to distract the driver, while the vehicle is moving. Driver distraction can lead to accidents, potentially causing serious injury or death.

CAUTION

If a low power alert displays, the touchscreen displays a message, alerting the user that the vehicle requires charging. The navigation system displays a selection of charging stations that can be reached with the current battery charge. The user can decide to add a charging station as a waypoint or as a destination.

CAUTION

The user can choose to ignore low power alerts from the navigation system, at the user's own risk. If the user ignores a low power alert, the touchscreen displays additional warning messages, alerting the user of the risk.

To access the navigation system, touch the Navigation soft key on the touchscreen's HOME menu. Alternatively, select the navigation icon. See TOUCHSCREEN HOME MENU.

NOTES

A first time user should setup personal preferences in the NAVIGATION SETTINGS menu. Personal preferences include settings for managing which features can connect to the internet when on the home network or while roaming. The settings are applied whenever navigation is used. See SETTINGS.

When navigation is selected and the vehicle is stationary, the navigation system displays a map view of the current vehicle position. The touchscreen displays a side panel containing access tiles.

NOTES

The quick access tiles act as shortcuts, to allow quick access to certain navigation system functionality.

NOTES

The quick access tiles are hidden when the vehicle’s speed reaches a predetermined level. The quick access tiles do not display again until the vehicle's electrical system is restarted. If required, the options can be accessed via the NAVIGATION SETTINGS menu. See SETTINGS.

NOTES

If the navigation system is started when the vehicle's speed is already above the predetermined level, the quick access tiles do not display.

Control the navigation system as follows:

  1. Scroll bar: Touch to scroll up or down the tile list.

  2. Quick access tile options: Options include:

    Recent destinations.

    Home.

    NOTES

Internet connectivity is required for satellite map view.

  5. Navigation menu icon: Touch to select the NAVIGATION menu. SeeMAIN MENU.

  6. Settings icon: Touch to select the SETTINGS pop-up menu. Select Navigation settings to view or adjust the settings.

  7. Return icon: Touch to return to a higher menu level.
