WARNING

In some circumstances, warnings and automatic braking may not occur. For example, if the distance to the vehicle ahead is very small. Another example includes when carrying out a collision avoidance maneuver by making large steering wheel and pedal movements. Always drive with due care and attention. Driving without due care and attention greatly increases the risk of an accident.

High-speed Emergency Braking attempts to slow the vehicle automatically if it detects that a collision with a slower vehicle ahead is unavoidable. High-speed Emergency Braking operates at all speeds. High-speed Emergency Braking also operates if adaptive cruise control and forward alert are switched off.

A warning sounds if the High-speed Emergency Braking feature detects a collision is imminent. The High-speed Emergency Braking feature automatically applies the brakes if it detects that the collision has become unavoidable. The instrument panel displays IEB System Was Activated after the High-speed Emergency Braking feature has activated.

NOTES

High-speed Emergency Braking does not work again until the system has been reset by a retailer/authorized repairer.

NOTES

The distance required to slow or stop the vehicle is dependent on the condition of the vehicle’s tires and the road surface.
