In the interest of safety, only operate, adjust, or view the Head-Up Display (HUD) when it is safe to do so.

To make sure that the HUD always runs at its optimum temperature, the HUD takes more time to display from start-up in extreme temperatures.

The full HUD image may not be viewed correctly while wearing polarised sunglasses.

Do not place anything over the HUD unit, which is positioned on the driver’s side between the top of the instrument panel and the windscreen.

The HUD feature projects driver information onto the inside of the windscreen.

The information displayed is as follows:

  1. Current gear selected, or,

  2. Follow mode is active. See ENTERING FOLLOW MODE.

  3. Cruise control set speed.

  4. Cruise control or adaptive cruise control is active.

  5. Traffic sign recognition identified speed limit. See TRAFFIC SIGN RECOGNITION.

  6. Current vehicle speed.

  7. Turn-by-turn navigation instructions.

Instrument panel warning lamps may also display in the HUD. See WARNING LAMPS AND INDICATORS.

The HUD is controlled via the Head-Up Display (HUD) instrument panel menu. See INSTRUMENT PANEL MENU.

With the HUD menu selected, the following options are available:

  • Switching the HUD on and off.

  • Selecting which information is displayed on the inside of the windscreen.

  • Selecting the position of the display.

  • Selecting the brightness of the display.

Setting the HUD position is important. The correct position is dependent on a number of conditions, including the height of the driver and the current driver's seat position.

Before setting the position of the HUD, make sure to correctly position the driver's seat. The HUD level should be set horizontally, within the driver's vision. See SITTING IN THE CORRECT POSITION.

Set the HUD position via the Head-Up Display (HUD) instrument panel menu. Follow the on-screen instructions. Preferences can be stored using the driver's seat memory store button (M). See DRIVING POSITION MEMORY.

The brightness of the display is set automatically to suit the ambient light conditions. The brightness can be manually adjusted via the Head-Up Display (HUD) instrument panel menu. Follow the on-screen instructions and then press OK to confirm.

The HUD is linked to the trip computer units settings. If the fuel economy display is set to miles, the HUD is also in miles. If the fuel economy display is set to km, the HUD is also in km. See METRIC, IMPERIAL, AND MIXED DISPLAY.

If cleaning is required, follow the cleaning instructions. See CLEANING SCREENS AND DISPLAYS.
