CONTROLES DEL LIMITADOR AUTOMÁTICO DE VELOCIDAD (ASL)

WARNING

The Automatic Speed Limiter (ASL) is a driving aid only. It remains the driver’s responsibility to drive with due care and attention, in a manner which is safe for the vehicle, its occupants and other road users.

WARNING

In certain conditions, such as a steep downhill gradient, the vehicle speed may exceed the set speed limit. Driver intervention may be required as engine braking is unable to maintain or reduce the vehicle speed.

NOTES

The ASL is not available when cruise control is in operation.

  1. SET+.

  2. -.

  3. RES.

  4. CAN.

The ASL allows the driver to manually restrict the maximum vehicle speed. When a maximum speed limit is set, the vehicle responds normally until the set speed is reached. At this point, the vehicle stops accelerating.

NOTES

ASL only operates at speeds upward of 30 km/h (19 mph).

To activate the ASL:

  1. Press the LIM button on the steering wheel to switch the speed limiter system on. See DESCRIPCIÓN GENERAL DEL LIMITADOR DE VELOCIDAD.

An information lamp is displayed in the instrument panel to confirm the ASL is the first speed limiter option. LIMITADOR AUTOMÁTICO DE VELOCIDAD (ASL) (ÁMBAR).

  2. Press the SET+ button or the RES button on the steering wheel to activate ASL.

  3. Press and hold the SET+ button on the steering wheel to set the desired maximum speed limit. On vehicles fitted with a full screen instrument panel, the set speed is displayed as a marker on the speedometer. On vehicles fitted with traditional instrument panel dials, the set speed is displayed in the message centre.

A single press of the SET+ button raises the set speed by 2 km/h (1 mph).

NOTES

If the criteria for ASL operation are not met, a message is displayed in the message centre.

To lower the ASL set speed, press and hold the - button on the steering wheel until the desired speed is reached. A single press of the - button lowers the set speed by 2 km/h (1 mph).

To suspend ASL operation, press the CAN button on the steering wheel. To resume ASL operation, press the RES button or the SET+ button on the steering wheel.

The ASL set speed can be overridden if rapid acceleration is required. Rapid acceleration is also known as kick-down. See TRANSMISIÓN AUTOMÁTICA.

If kick-down is required, the vehicle accelerates past the ASL set speed. When the vehicle speed drops below the ASL set speed, any speed limitations are reapplied.
