FUNCIÓN DE ALERTA DE ALCANCE

WARNING

The forward alert function may not react to slow moving vehicles. When forward alert is operational, the driver must always drive with due care and attention. Driving without due care an attention greatly increases the risk of an accident.

WARNING

The forward alert function uses the same radar sensor as the adaptive cruise control system. The same performance limitations apply.

The forward alert function provides limited detection and warning of objects close ahead while the vehicle is moving forward. When the function is active, a warning lamp displays in the instrument panel. See ALERTA DE ALCANCE (VERDE).

If a vehicle or object is detected in the user defined sensitivity area, a warning tone sounds. The message centre displays the message FORWARD ALERT. If this occurs, the driver should take appropriate action immediately.

The sensitivity of the forward alert function can be adjusted when the adaptive cruise control system is switched off.

To reduce the sensitivity, press the < - > button on the steering wheel controls. See USO DEL CONTROL DE CRUCERO ADAPTATIVO.

When pressed, the message centre displays the current setting, accompanied by the message FWD ALERT < - - - >. Press the < - > button again to reduce the sensitivity.

To increase the sensitivity, press the < - - - > button on the steering wheel controls. When pressed, the message centre displays the current setting, accompanied by the message FWD ALERT < - - - >. Press the < - - - > button again to increase the sensitivity.

NOTES

The new forward alert function setting is retained when the vehicle’s ignition is switched off.

The forward alert function can be switched on and off via the Driver Assistance menu in the instrument panel. See MENÚ DEL CUADRO DE INSTRUMENTOS.

NOTES

If the forward alert function is switched off, the Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) warning messages are also switched off. See FRENADO DE EMERGENCIA AUTÓNOMO (AEB).
